[目的/意义] 针对当前数据管理计划在图书馆用户研究和科学数据管理服务中的应用,归纳总结科学数据管理计划的应用价值,引导图书馆更好地利用数据管理计划来提升其科学数据管理服务。[方法/过程] 梳理有关数据管理计划的现有研究成果,总结数据管理计划对图书馆推进科学数据管理服务的3种应用价值,以新加坡南洋理工大学科学数据管理计划的内容分析实践为例,进一步验证所提出的3种应用价值及应用注意事项。[结果/结论] 数据管理计划对图书馆推进科学数据管理服务的价值,主要体现在3个方面,即作为一种信息资源,帮助深入了解所在机构科研人员的数据管理实践与行为特征;作为一种反馈渠道,为图书馆当下服务的改进、潜在服务的开发提供启发;作为一个根植于实践的培训平台,帮助馆员有效提升数据服务能力并构建利益相关者合作网络。但是分析数据管理计划存在一些固有的局限性,应该与其他方法相结合,以更好地指导机构实施和改善科学数据管理服务。尽管如此,数据管理计划的重要性仍无可置疑,国内相关机构应尽快将提出数据管理计划要求提上日程。  相似文献

This paper presents a case study of an advisory role that librarians successfully developed with faculty editors to increase the visibility and readership of an open access scholarly publication. The study represents an example of how expertise among liaison librarians and other library service professionals can be leveraged in new consultancy roles in support of evolving library service models. It also depicts local application of a hybrid model for librarianship that combines the functional specialist and subject librarian liaison roles in implementing advisory activities and recommendations. The liaison librarians successfully used their knowledge of scholarly communications and applied innovative bibliometric analysis to help enhance the discoverability and user experience of an online journal publication. The librarians made specific recommendations for optimizing journal website content organization, search functionality, metadata standards and marketing opportunities that were subsequently implemented by the editors and platform managers. The faculty editor places a high value on these recommendations, and the librarian advisory role continues to develop. Our study also outlines many of the essential considerations that scholar-editors and librarian advisors can use to help implement open access scholarly publishing projects successfully.  相似文献

[目的/意义]对目前已经出版的或者处于草案征求意见阶段的科学数据管理计划评价量表进行比较分析,使利益相关者能更加了解制定科学数据管理计划评价量表的意义及设计要点,为今后我国开发类似的评价量表提供参考。[方法/过程]收集面向美国和英国主要科研资助机构的科学数据管理计划评价量表,从评价量表的设计依据和应用目的、各项评价要素的选择以及评价等级与等级描述三个主要设计步骤入手,分析不同评价量表的共性和差异。[结果/结论]为了帮助科研人员撰写高质量的科学数据管理计划,也为图书馆员开展科学数据管理服务提供有力支持,需要设计科学数据管理计划评价量表。我国的科研资助机构有必要学习国外优秀经验,出台科学数据管理计划相关政策并设计评价量表,只有这样才能有效推动科学数据管理工作的开展。  相似文献

This paper illustrates how liaison librarians can pursue influential relationships with faculty candidates in their liaison departments during the interview process. Although these interactions tend to be meet and greets, the impression that they leave may assist a potentially new faculty member when evaluating the campus environment and climate. This essay explores the relationship that academic librarians can develop during the hiring process for faculty candidates in their liaison departments, and the continued collaboration post-hire for the successful candidate. Literature for librarian outreach has been synthesized to present suggestions for strategies to engage with faculty candidates during the interview process and to further develop these relationships post-hire.  相似文献

Distance librarians working with an online doctoral program at Johns Hopkins University are asked by both students and faculty to provide a large amount of library support – without being embedded into the curriculum or the individual courses. Program administrators and faculty were resistant to allow librarians into the course management system (CMS), denying them access to discussion boards, assignment updates, and course content, but still expected a high level of student support. Over a three-year period, librarians respond by creating a “halo” of library services to support students at point of need that existed outside of the CMS, but was still highly integrated into the program. Librarians explore the importance of scaffolding and linking disparate services to complement each other, building a halo of support. Student need is at the center of the plan, focusing on collaborative teaching and reflection as well as student centered learning.  相似文献

As is the case in many university libraries, Albertsons Library at Boise State University, has hired many new librarians to replace retiring librarians. These newer librarians, typically with less than 3 years’ academic library experience, are actively engaged in meeting the opportunities and challenges of subject liaison responsibilities using innovative Web-based tools. This article addresses liaison experiences with faculty-directed blogs, personalized faculty research pages, a wiki-based liaison manual, and the use of LibraryThing as a collection development tool. An overview of these efforts confirms that new technologies are only as good as the face-to-face communication and the follow-up that accompany their implementation. Much of the content in this article was presented at the 2007 and 2008 Acquisitions Institute conferences at Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood, Oregon.  相似文献

[目的/意义] 数据管理计划作为科研数据管理的一份纲领性文件,对规范数据管理过程、制定数据标准具有重要作用。借鉴英国的实践经验,对提升国内科研数据管理效率、促进科研数据开放共享具有重要意义。[方法/过程] 数据管理计划在英国基金机构的科研数据管理过程中得到广泛应用,通过网络调研和文献调研的方法,对英国主要的9个基金机构的数据管理计划实践情况进行分析和总结。[结果/结论] 国内基金机构可以从需求管理、机构合作、政策法规、基础设施建设以及成本预算等方面开展数据管理计划,促进我国科研数据开放共享。  相似文献

[目的/意义] 以欧盟研究与创新框架计划"地平线2020"为例,介绍和分析欧盟科研数据管理与开放获取政策及其特点,为我国科研数据管理与开放获取提供参考与借鉴。[方法/过程] 采用文献调研法,对"欧盟地平线2020"计划及其科研数据管理与开放获取政策进行梳理,概括其内容,分析其特点。[结果/结论] 实现对我国科研数据的科学和有效管理需要从战略层面制定国家科研数据管理与共享政策,提供稳定与持续的经费支持,制定具有共识性和指导意义的原则与标准,加强对科研数据管理与共享的相关研究及培训,发挥图书馆在科研数据共享方面的作用。  相似文献

[目的/意义]通过数据驱动研究的海内外环境扫描,研究数据管理服务的国内外进展,提出研究数据管理服务框架和服务研究生命周期的建议,并以北京大学图书馆的实践为例,为高校与科研机构提供研究数据管理服务、推动数据驱动研究提供研究与实践参考经验。[方法/过程]调研国内外数据驱动研究现状和趋势,分析研究数据管理服务国内外发展情况,指出研究数据管理服务的重要性。通过对用户调查和QS排名前50名的大学服务的调研,总结服务需求。根据数据驱动研究范式特点和研究者需求,依据国家、国际组织、资助机构和科研机构的数据政策要求,基于研究数据生命周期需要服务于研究生命周期,提出研究数据管理服务框架设计。介绍北京大学研究数据管理服务框架体系建设经验,为研究数据管理服务框架体系建设提供建议。[结果/结论]基于需求调研设计支持学术交流全过程的研究数据管理服务框架,研究数据管理服务应包括:数据管理计划、数据服务、数据管理、数据素养、长期保存和数据政策等。在该框架下北京大学图书馆从多方面开展研究数据服务实践,为高校与科研机构建设研究数据管理服务提供有价值的参考经验。  相似文献

Collection development and the management of access to electronic resources in large academic libraries increasingly requires close cooperation between collection development librarians, public service librarians, and systems librarians and staff. Many libraries, both public and academic, have created new positions or converted existing ones with titles such as ‘electronic resources librarian’ or ‘electronic information coordinator.’ Two years ago, the Washington State University (WSU) Libraries decided to take a different approach to managing these two vital library functions by creating the new position of Assistant Director for Collections and Systems. This paper explores the convergence of collection development and systems in a research library. It sets forth the philosophical underpinnings of that convergence, and it discusses issues encountered in the integration of the two services in the WSU Libraries. [目的/意义]梳理国内外农业科学数据监管的研究进展,发现该领域国内外研究存在的问题,明晰其发展趋势。[方法/过程]主要采用对比分析的方法,通过对Web of Science数据库的检索,对于ESI排名前几名的国内外主要农业高水平大学科学数据监管问题进行对比研究,对比的焦点集中在机构库的建设、平台和导航的建设、专门的监管机构、DMP及其开发工具和DC信息素养教育等方面。[结果/结论]研究发现,目前我国农业科学数据监管与国外发展存在很大差距,尤其是对农业科学实验数据的监管方面,可以说比较落后,为缩短差距,提高服务质量,指出我国农业高水平大学科学数据监管未来可能出现的几大研究动向与发展对策,抓住农业大数据这个新的科研热点,结合我国国情,开展农业科学数据的开放与共享。  相似文献

The research data management team at the University of California, Berkeley implemented a domain-based Librarian Training Program in order to upskill liaison librarians in research data management principles and create a community of practice among librarians providing research data support. The training program partnered with representatives from each subject division of the Library to integrate content from relevant disciplines. The training model emphasized scaffolding and concrete deliverables, teaching specific tools and concepts, and creating learning objects useful for instruction and outreach. Employing a situated, learning-based, pedagogical model, the program was more successful than previous attempts at library-wide research data management training at Berkeley. This analysis details the program management, curricular design, instruction, and outcomes that made the Library Training Program successful.  相似文献

Academic librarians engage students in the learning management system to provide information literacy instruction and answer individual reference questions related to scholarly research. When collaborating with faculty, embedded librarians deliver the library’s authoritative electronic resources to students working on research projects. Trends in academic publishing and technological innovations make possible online search for a generation reliant on mobile devices. Although students are able to access much digital content available through academic libraries and open access initiatives, they still appreciate guidance from embedded librarians who visit their learning management system courses to explain the complexities of scholarly research and suggest solutions.  相似文献

The question of academic librarian status has resulted in academic librarians approaching relationships with faculty as one of deference, where they cede power to disciplinary faculty regardless of their own expertise. To date, no research has explored why academic librarians engage in deference behavior when working with disciplinary faculty. Self-efficacy, a person's beliefs in their ability to perform a task, may be an appropriate theoretical framework to begin exploring this behavior. This pilot study explores the perceived self-efficacy of Colorado academic librarians holding an instruction and/or liaison role (n = 68) in order to examine academic librarians' levels of perceived self-efficacy and its relationship to faculty status and years in profession. Results indicate that there is not a significant relationship between perceived self-efficacy and faculty status or years in profession but that gender is significantly associated with perceived self-efficacy. Results also indicate a change in self-efficacy as library faculty progress between faculty ranks. Avenues for future research on academic librarian self-efficacy are suggested and implications for public services managers are discussed.  相似文献

This article describes the creation and implementation of focus groups to evaluate the effectiveness of a health sciences library's liaison program of the College of Pharmacy faculty and to better understand the faculty's information needs in order to design new and improved library services. The liaison services support the teaching and research needs of faculty and students through literature research, classroom teaching, and an extensive library collection of pharmacy literature. Focus group results demonstrated a high level of satisfaction with library liaison services and collections. Opportunities exist for expanded interaction with graduate students and greater marketing of library services to increase faculty awareness of specific library programs.  相似文献

This study explores new faculty members' and librarians' perceptions of a program that provides each new faculty member with funds to purchase materials supporting their teaching and scholarship. The article describes the results of a survey of perceptions of the faculty and librarians who have participated in the program at Illinois State University. The findings suggest that the program has not been successful as a recruitment tool but has been very valuable for establishing early and strong subject liaison relationships with new faculty members.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This article presents a practical method for formative, self-reflective assessment of the liaison activities of individual librarians and to evaluate liaison activities in general. Many libraries evaluate their liaison programs, but few evaluate the effectiveness of individual librarians’ efforts within the program. Librarians of Rollins College redefined and re-branded their liaison program as “Your Librarian.” As part of this effort, the author surveyed the faculty and assessed the program and the effectiveness of individual librarians. The author outlines the liaison responsibilities, the survey instrument, and how the results are analyzed and used in a process of continuous reflective improvement for the program and librarians.  相似文献

New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) Library receives copies of all course syllabi to provide a number of services to faculty and students related to acquisitions, access, collection development, subject liaison, and library instruction. Access services and acquisitions staff, as well as subject liaison librarians, work together using specific workflows to ensure that subject-relevant materials are selected and purchased on an ongoing basis and access needs are met by course reserves or the learning management system. Additionally, the library works closely with the NYUAD Bookstore, which also receives textbook orders, to ensure that students have access to all required and supplementary materials on the first day of classes.  相似文献
