Involvement of endothelial progenitor cells in the formation of plexiform lesions in broiler chickens: possible role of local immune/inflammatory response

Plexiform lesions (PLs), which are often accompanied by perivascular infiltrates of mononuclear cells, represent the hallmark lesions of pulmonary arteries in humans suffering from severe pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) have been recently implicated in the formation of PLs in human patients. PLs rarely develop in rodent animal models of PAH but can develop spontaneously in broiler chickens. The aim of the present study was to confirm the presence of EPCs in the PLs in broilers. The immune mechanisms involved in EPC dysfunction were also evaluated. Lungs were collected from commercial broilers at 1 to 4 weeks of age. The right/total ventricle ratios indicated normal pulmonary arterial pressures for all sampled birds. Immunohistochemistry was performed to determine the expressions of EPC markers (CD133 and VEGFR-2) and proangiogenic molecule hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) in the lung samples. An EPC/lymphocyte co-culture system was used to investigate the functional changes of EPCs under the challenge of immune cells. PLs with different cellular composition were detected in the lungs of broilers regardless of age, and they were commonly surrounded by moderate to dense perivascular mononuclear cell infiltrates. Immunohistochemical analyses revealed the presence of CD133⁺ and VEGFR-2⁺ cells in PLs. These structures also exhibited a strong expression of HGF. Lymphocyte co-culture enhanced EPC apoptosis and completely blocked HGF-stimulated EPC survival and in vitro tube formation. Taken together, this work provides evidence for the involvement of EPCs in the development of PLs in broilers. It is suggested that the local immune cell infiltrate might serve as a contributor to EPC dysfunction by inducing EPC death and limiting their response to angiogenic stimuli. Broiler chickens may be valuable for investigating reversibility of plexogenic arteriopathy using genemodified inflammation-resistant EPCs.  相似文献   

不同办园体制下幼儿教师的生存状态

生存状态指在日常物质和精神环境以及特定的历史文化背景下,人们表现出来的各种生活形态。幼儿教师的生存状态包括幼儿教师的健康状况、待遇状况、工作情况、人际关系、社会地位、自我实现状况等。对不同办园体制下幼儿教师的生存状态进行调查与访谈,结果显示幼儿教师的总体生存状态欠佳,并在不同办园体制上存在显著差异,教育部门及机关事业单位办幼儿园教师的生存状态相对最好,部队办幼儿园次之,企业办幼儿园和公民个人办幼儿园最差。不良的生存状态势必会影响幼儿教师的生活水平与教育教学质量,制约学前教育事业的健康发展。各级政府与教育主管部门应高度重视幼儿教师生存状态的改善,通过提高其待遇与社会地位促进幼儿教师队伍建设。  相似文献

Close Friendship Strength and Broader Peer Group Desirability as Differential Predictors of Adult Mental Health

Middle adolescents’ close friendship strength and the degree to which their broader peer group expressed a preference to affiliate with them were examined as predictors of relative change in depressive symptoms, self-worth, and social anxiety symptoms from ages 15 to 25 using multimethod, longitudinal data from 169 adolescents. Close friendship strength in midadolescence predicted relative increases in self-worth and decreases in anxiety and depressive symptoms by early adulthood. Affiliation preference by the broader peer group, in contrast, predicted higher social anxiety by early adulthood. Results are interpreted as suggesting that adolescents who prioritize forming close friendships are better situated to manage key social developmental tasks going forward than adolescents who prioritize attaining preference with many others in their peer milieu.  相似文献

Design and reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety analysis of a high availability quadruple vital computer system

With the development of high-speed railways in China, more than 2000 high-speed trains will be put into use. Safety and efficiency of railway transportation is increasingly important. We have designed a high availability quadruple vital computer (HAQVC) system based on the analysis of the architecture of the traditional double 2-out-of-2 system and 2-out-of-3 system. The HAQVC system is a system with high availability and safety, with prominent characteristics such as fire-new internal architecture, high efficiency, reliable data interaction mechanism, and operation state change mechanism. The hardware of the vital CPU is based on ARM7 with the real-time embedded safe operation system (ES-OS). The Markov modeling method is designed to evaluate the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) of the system. In this paper, we demonstrate that the HAQVC system is more reliable than the all voting triple modular redundancy (AVTMR) system and double 2-out-of-2 system. Thus, the design can be used for a specific application system, such as an airplane or high-speed railway system.  相似文献
