Does a focal firm's technology entry timing depend on the impact of the technology on co-opetitors?

In this paper, I explore the role that the impact of a technological change on a firm's co-opetitors plays in the firm's technology entry timing. I hypothesize that where a co-opetitor dominates in the co-opetitor-firm relationship, a firm's technology entry timing does not depend on the impact of the technology on the firm's capabilities as predicted by previous research. Rather, it depends on the impact of the change on the dominant co-opetitor. If the change is incremental to a dominant customer, for example, the focal incumbent firm will start development of the new technology before new entrants, irrespective of whether it is radical or incremental to focal firms. If the change is radical to the dominant co-opetitor, new entrant focal firms will start development of the new technology before incumbent focal firms. I explore these hypotheses using the case of three major technological changes in supercomputers: vector processors, minisupercomputers, and massively parallel processors.  相似文献

本文研究了在云南境内的万寿竹Disporum cantoniense (Lour．)Merr．从滇东南经滇中到滇西 北不同居群间的核型变异。该种的染色体数目较为稳定，2n=14，没有观察到不同数目的变异。六个 居群的不对称性均属于3B型，但各个居群的核型结构表现出一定的差异，核型间随体位置和数目的不 同以及同源染色体的杂合性是居群间变异的主要特征，这种种内不同居群间核型的变异或许与该种的地理分布及生境有一定的相关性。  相似文献   

Where words collide: social class,schools and linguistic discontinuity

The prestige accorded to standard language varieties, particularly within the field of education, together with language management role of schools with respect to the variety and the extent to which linguistic differences construct discontinuous relationships between the school and specific social groups provide the rationale for this paper. This qualitative study, based on a friendship focus group design, was conducted with two groups of 12-year-old children from contrasting ‘ideal type’, socio-economic groups over the period of one school year. Findings outline specific practices where the linguistic expectations and demands within school-space create different implications and outcomes for middle-class and working-class children as a result of their linguistic experiences in non-school space. The implications of these linguistic interactions on patterns of engagement with the school among the children in the sample are also considered.  相似文献

借助于模数完善网球运动员的技战术行动的相互学操作工艺为确立网球运动员在与具体对手比赛中安排战术的原则提供了可能性。为了控制复杂的多因素训练过程,必须拥有关于技术、身体和战术方面足够可信的信息,不仅运动员本人,也包括对手,而这些信息是直接在比赛活动条件下收集的。在有效安排比赛战术时最重要的因素是拥有关于对手完成技战术行动质量方面的信息。这样的信息是借助于专门的比赛录像,随后经过电脑手段加工而获得的。建立可分析将要遇到的对手比赛活动的数据库,有助于在针对具体比赛安排战术任务时选择决定,并在很大程度上可以预测对手在争夺局、盘或整场比赛的关键分时将采用的技战术行动。为了分析与世界优秀网球运动员比赛战术选择对比中出现的问题,研究结果显示,在相应的专项身体训练和心理训练程度水平的指标下,善于在最少失误的情况下完成技术行动,使得既能在比分有利的条件下,也能在比分不利的复杂时刻条件下实现争夺比分的战术。拥有有关对手在比赛的紧急关头最经常使用的比赛行动方案的信息,可以迫使他使用对于他解决战术任务最好的方案,由此来预测他的意图。  相似文献

Ensuring quality of laboratory services is the need of the hour in the field of health care. Keeping in mind the revolution ushered by six sigma concept in corporate world, health care sector may reap the benefits of the same. Six sigma provides a general methodology to describe performance on sigma scale. We aimed to gauge our laboratory performance by sigma metrics. Internal quality control (QC) data was analyzed retrospectively over a period of 6 months from July 2009 to December 2009. Laboratory mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation were calculated for all the parameters. Sigma was calculated for both the levels of internal QC. Satisfactory sigma values (>6) were elicited for creatinine, triglycerides, SGOT, CPK-Total and Amylase. Blood urea performed poorly on the sigma scale with sigma <3. The findings of our exercise emphasize the need for detailed evaluation and adoption of ameliorative measures in order to effectuate six sigma standards for all the analytical processes.  相似文献

何时进行专利许可？考虑创新规模的企业专利许可时间决策研究

专利技术许可已经成为开放式创新时代企业获取创新利益的重要方式,而何时进行专利许可是企业面临的重要决策问题。本文根据专利的法律化过程将专利许可时间分为专利申请-公开之间、公开-授权之间以及授权后,重点考察不同创新规模条件下企业的专利许可时间决策差异。通过将专利公开效应与授权效应纳入到企业专利许可时间决策模型,从理论上推导出企业创新规模与专利许可时间决策的关系,即：（1）企业创新规模增加会导致专利申请-公开之间许可的概率增加;（2）企业创新规模增加会导致专利公开-授权之间许可的概率先增加后降低,即企业创新规模对专利公开-授权之间许可概率的影响呈倒U型;（3）企业创新规模增加会导致专利授权后许可的概率降低。然后,本文利用2001-2015年中国企业在国家知识产权局申请且第一次备案许可的11865条发明专利进行实证研究,结果验证了以上所有理论命题。本研究从理论上揭示了不同创新规模企业的专利许可时间决策机制,对我国企业技术转移策略选择以及技术转移政策设计具有重要实践启示。  相似文献
