Precision prediction based on ranked list coherence   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We introduce a statistical measure of the coherence of a list of documents called the clarity score. Starting with a document list ranked by the query-likelihood retrieval model, we demonstrate the score's relationship to query ambiguity with respect to the collection. We also show that the clarity score is correlated with the average precision of a query and lay the groundwork for useful predictions by discussing a method of setting decision thresholds automatically. We then show that passage-based clarity scores correlate with average-precision measures of ranked lists of passages, where a passage is judged relevant if it contains correct answer text, which extends the basic method to passage-based systems. Next, we introduce variants of document-based clarity scores to improve the robustness, applicability, and predictive ability of clarity scores. In particular, we introduce the ranked list clarity score that can be computed with only a ranked list of documents, and the weighted clarity score where query terms contribute more than other terms. Finally, we show an approach to predicting queries that perform poorly on query expansion that uses techniques expanding on the ideas presented earlier.

This paper analyzes the relation between publishing public performance results on the Internet, stakeholder accountability, and the effectiveness and legitimacy of Dutch public service organizations. The empirical research focuses on Web sites with performance results of schools and hospitals. These results are published on the Internet by ‘third parties’ (government organizations, associations of public service organizations, and newspapers). Publications of performance results stimulate schools and hospitals to score better on performance indicators because they feel the ‘public eyes’ on them. However, the risk of a ‘performance paradox’ and adverse effects is great since strategic behavior may lead to higher scores but not improve the effectiveness of these organizations. The research provides moderate support for negative effects on the legitimacy of schools and hospitals which may be attributed to the sole use of the Internet as a medium for access to information and negligence of its communicative potential.  相似文献

Concerns about the performance of mobile apps have spurred a stream of research on factors contributing to the success of mobile apps in the major app stores. However, identified success factors have not been synthesized into a unified framework. Similarly, reported findings typically address main effects. The present study introduces the concept of app store strategy to synthesize the mobile app success factors that developers implement in the major app stores. The study synthesizes four such factors consisting of app size, app versions (major and minor), revenue model and mobile app names. Further, drawing on IS literature, the study distinguishes between hedonic and utilitarian mobile apps. Using a dataset of mobile apps from Play Store (N = 8325), the study investigates to what extent app store strategy interacts with the hedonic and utilitarian value of mobile apps in driving app rating. The study employed a combination of traditional regression and machine learning approaches to test proposed hypotheses. The findings make a two-fold contribution to the literature first by introducing the concept of app store strategy to synthesize mobile app success factors and second by examining hedonic and utilitarian mobile apps as a boundary condition in the relationship between app store strategy and app rating.  相似文献

This paper systematically examines (i) how individual personality can influence on cultural acculturation which can impact on the higher level of perceived value in LGBTs, and (ii) how the higher level of perceived value towards social media can result in being more satisfied, (iii) consequently having a better working life at workplace and performance proficiency. The generated framework was validated through a survey from multinational corporations in multi-industries such as higher education (with more than two campuses around the world), global fashion, global retailing, tourism, hospitality, food, and electronics and information technology. 众创空间社会网络与合作伙伴社会网络的复杂交织关系是众创空间的突出特点,对提升众创空间绩效具有重要影响。基于社会网络理论,运用聚焦组态效应的定性比较分析法(QCA),探讨网络特征要素的组态效应对众创空间绩效产生的影响。研究表明:(1)获得众创空间高绩效有赖于网络特征要素间的组态效应,并且存在3种路径均可提升众创空间绩效,即网络中心性-关系强度主导型、网络结构主导型和关系嵌入主导型;(2)众创空间不同网络特征要素之间存在相互替补效应,这有利于获得众创空间高绩效;(3)网络中心性和关系强度是影响众创空间高绩效的核心条件,二者能有效增强网络特征对提升众创空间绩效的积极作用。  相似文献

本文运用DEA的CCR模型和DEA的超效率(Super-Efficiency)模型,根据广东等13个省市2007年文化产业投入产出数据,利用DEA-Solver-LV软件对文化产业投入产出绩效进行实证分析。研究认为:广东文化产业投入产出绩效虽综合效率得分第一,但在财政投入、固定资产投产、文化、文物单位数投入方面仍存在不足;广东省文化产业由于缺乏自主创新能力和原创能力,总体上还不具备在国际市场上的竞争力。  相似文献
