The cumulative and residual fatigue response associated with soccer-specific activity performed on different playing surfaces

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to assess the effect of playing surface (Natural [NT] and Artificial [AT] Turf) on the fatigue response to a soccer-specific exercise protocol (SSEP). Eighteen male soccer players completed the SSEP on NT and AT with pre-, post-, and 48 h post-assessments of eccentric knee flexor (eccKF) and concentric knee extensor peak torque (PT), peak countermovement (CMJ) and squat jump (SJ) height, and Nordic hamstring break angle. No significant main effects for surface or any surface and time interactions were observed for any of the outcome measures, except for eccKF PT recorded at 3.14 rad·s^-1, which was significantly lower 48 h post-trial in the AT condition (AT = 146.3 ± 20.4 Nm; NT = 158.8 ± 24.7 Nm). Main effects for time were observed between pre- and post-trial measures for eccKF PT at all angular velocities, Nordic break angle, CMJ and SJ height. Nordic break angle, and both CMJ and SJ height were significantly impaired 48 h post-trial when compared to pre-trial. The findings of the current study suggest surface dependent changes in eccKF PT which may have implications for recovery and subsequent performance after competition on AT.  相似文献   

Language Teachers’ Intercultural Identity in the Critical Context of Cultural Globalization and Its Metaphoric Realization

ABSTRACT

This study used questionnaires and interviews to investigate Iranian English language teachers’ intercultural identity and its metaphoric realization in the context of cultural globalization. While questionnaire findings revealed that the majority held first language cultural identity, factor analysis indicated teachers’ preference for American culture as representative of globalized culture. Interview data indicated teachers’ imagined direct exposure to the global village through the media. Metaphoric analysis revealed the conceptualization of local culture as closed home, which was valued by anti-cultural globalization teachers as protection while devalued by pro-cultural globalization teachers as a limitation. These findings have implications for expanding teachers’ intercultural identity.  相似文献

针对古代文献引用方式的特殊性和无法运用常规引文分析及关键词分析方法进行研究的现状，本文以主题内容为检索单元以朝代为时间单元进行频数统计研究，将贯穿中国历代传统书法理论（书论）中的大量自然意象描述主题内容分为21类，并以此为指标进行分朝代统计，进而采用线性回归方法计算不同朝代书论之间的相关性，并以此作为各朝书论之间的传承关系。论文同时利用文史考证材料对所揭示的传承现象进行了分析、验证和阐释。  相似文献

本文考察了中国第一位诺贝尔科学奖的提名人与被提名人的情况。中国本土第一位诺贝尔科学奖提名人为国际著名生物化学家吴宪(1893-1959),他于1932年提名了约翰·诺斯罗普(John H Northrop)和詹姆士·萨姆纳(James B Sumner)为诺贝尔生理学或医学奖候选人。而最早获得诺贝尔科学奖提名的中国人乃中国检疫和防疫事业先驱,公共卫生学家、中华医学会首任会长伍连德(1879-1960)博士,他因在肺鼠疫方面的工作尤其是发现土拨鼠在鼠疫传播过程中的作用而被提名角逐1935年诺贝尔生理学或医学奖。  相似文献   

Feasibility of determination of fertile period in Indian women based on urinary hormone estimations

Baseline data available on the excretory profiles of estrone giucuronide (E₁G), pregnanediol glucuronide (PdG) and luteinising hormone (LH) on human menstrual cycles (n=104) was retrospectively analysed for identifying the limits of fertile period (FP) to be used as natural method of family planning. The limits of fertile period are suggested based on centile distribution of E₁G and PdG levels during defined phase of menstrual cycle. Two approaches, which do not involve any mathematical calculation are suggested. In approach A, fertile period is said to have started when E₁G value of 35 ng/ml is reached and is said to have ended when the PdG value of 2 μg/ml on two consecutive days is obtained. The criteria were applied to 30 test cycles in whom authentic fertile period was identified based on excretory profiles of E₁G, PdG and LH throughout the menstrual cycles. When approach A was followed the authentic fertile period was covered in 27 cycles giving an accuracy of 90% with a mean fertile period length of 9.11+1.9 days. In approach B, the cut off limit of E₁G value was increased to 55 ng/ml in order to reduce the days of abstinence. Though the length of the fertile period was reduced to 7.2+1.5 days the accuracy of the approach was 66.6%. Thus the approach A which has accuracy of 90% may appeal to determined couples who wish to practice family planning by periodic abstinence or restrict the use of barrier methods.  相似文献

美国伯克莱大学近年来开发设计的语义工具———入口词表模块(EVM),目标是实现自然语言到受控语言的转换。本文详细介绍了EVM的创建过程和实现机制,首先利用数据检索代理和清洗代理从远程数据库中下载记录;然后抽取代理和构建代理利用下载的数据,采用统计学的方法计算自然语言词汇和受控语言词汇之间的关系,构建关联词典;最后由桌面代理和领域代理提供给用户感兴趣的领域,帮助用户进行检索。另外还列举了目前已经建立的几种模块,如INSPEC、MEDLINE、PATENTS等。最后还提出了这一项目未来需要改进的工作。  相似文献
