Objectives and information requirements are proposed for the design of a planning information system for Training and Personnel Technology RDT&E. Objectives are (1) improved procedures for relating Training and Personnel Technology RDT&E to defense objectives; (2) continuous coordination of plans through the establishment of a computer-assisted, DoD-wide RDT&E plans information sharing system; (3) improved labeling of work units and simplification of top management presentations by organizing large numbers of small technically-described work units into broad thrusts that identify deliverables with obvious payoff for defense; and (4) more systematic procedures for program evaluation and resource allocation decisions. Issues are identified that should be addressed during the design stage of such a system.  相似文献

This paper has two main objectives. First, it presents the new relationships between the State (the Ministry of the University) and each university in Italy, and the evaluation system established in 1996 and revised by a recent law passed in October 1999. Second, it focuses on the characteristics of the evaluation system which has to be implemented, in order to verify the universities programmes, as well as their results in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and quality. Particular attention is devoted to the system of indicators to be used for thee valuation and for the allocation of specific funds in terms of incentives, and to their possible effects on the decisions of the universities' management. Finally, appropriate statistical methods to analyse the system of indicators considered are highlighted. This paper presents the experienced difficulties of students participating in the multidisciplinary, remote collaborating engineering design course challenge-based innovation at CERN. This is with the aim to identify learning barriers and improve future learning experiences. We statistically analyse the rated differences between distinct design activities, educational background and remote vs. co-located collaboration. The analysis is based on a quantitative and qualitative questionnaire (N?=?37). Our analysis found significant ranking differences between remote and co-located activities. This questions whether the remote factor might be a barrier for the originally intended learning goals. Further a correlation between analytical and converging design phases was identified. Hence, future facilitators are suggested to help students in the transition from one design phase to the next rather than only teaching methods in the individual design phases. Finally, we discuss how educators address the identified learning barriers when designing future courses including multidisciplinary or remote collaboration.  相似文献

The analysis of a certain number of textbooks on Thermodynamics is expounded with the aim of showing that several mental representations of this subject matter are present in scientific literature. This analysis points out divergent attitudes not only towards the definition of fundamental concepts principles, but also towards the epistemological status of Thermodynamics. These attitudes underlie-sometimes tacitly-the relationship between the macroscopic and the microscopic approach on one side and between the state or process approach on the other. We also show the importance of both the historical reconstruction and the epistemological analysis for a deeper understanding of what these different mental representations underlie and entail.  相似文献
