Abstract

In 2016, J. Murrey Atkins Library at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte opened a reservable study room where student parents and caregivers can study with their children on campus. In 2018, the library opened a second family-friendly study room to meet the needs of our growing campus community. To inform the room design, the library conducted a mixed methods research study that included a user survey, an examination of room reservation and usage data, and one-on-one user interviews. This paper focuses on the user-centered design process used to inform the development of the second, family-friendly, library study room.  相似文献

Under current government directives, parents, along with professionals, are ascribed a central role in contributing to the processes associated with meeting their children's special needs. Yet many obstacles continue to hinder the achievement of good working relationships between parents and professionals. For parents located within minority ethnic communities, however, it is known that the challenges to attaining partnership working are often further heightened. Drawing on the day‐to‐day experiences of six families located in one minority ethnic context ‐ the Anglo‐Jewish community ‐ the author uses family systems theory as a useful lens through which parents' understandings of, and responses to professionals can be further interpreted and understood. 《中国日报》于2021年夏开始的对云南亚洲象北行的专题英文报道,利用多平台综合信息展示了中国环保实践,在全球广受好评。本次报道与习近平总书记构建中国话语和中国叙事体系的理念十分相符,其中生态理念的本土特质得到凸显,官民一体的形象得到了积极塑造,而中国科技能力的展现也融入了一个好故事的解说之中。中国当代的环境叙事必须反映人与自然的生命共同体与人类命运共同体的完整结合;"北向追象"所构造的具有中国特色的环境叙事之所以取得了很好的外宣效果,跟其紧扣这一完整性的表达密不可分,对于今后的国际传播工作也提供了颇多启示。  相似文献   

“互联网+”背景下学前儿童家长成长教育课程资源的建设现状与改善策略探讨

0-6岁学前儿童家长学习意愿强,手机操作和互联网使用熟练,建设科学合理系统的学前儿童家长成长课程资源将有利于提升家庭教育质量。结合互联网+平台数据分析可知,现有的0-6岁学前儿童家长互联网成长平台多为企业搭建,以盈利为主要目的,提供优质用户体验为特色,但教育课程资源呈现不专业、不系统,公益性不足,成长性不够的特点。建议政府和教育部门应加强家长成长教育课程资源平台的质量和迭代的监控,加强优质国外家庭教育资源的译介,加强企业和非企业优势互补的合作,加强关注家长自身成长的教育课程资源建设。  相似文献   

西方“儿童美术的发现”析论

在人类思想史上,"儿童美术"与"儿童"类似,经历了被"无视""误视"再到"正视"的过程。艺术家、艺术理论家、教育家、心理学家等的多重视野促成了"儿童美术的发现"。各方初衷不尽相同,却具有共同的倾向,即对"自然"的追寻,对传统的僵化规则的反叛,对创造力和自由表达的重视。这些倾向是儿童美术的独立性得以凸显的思想背景。在此背景下,儿童美术中所体现的儿童"天性"成为艺术家们反思自己的创作、寻求突破的重要资源,也成为教育家、心理学家们重要的研究面向。艺术家向儿童学习,思想家赞美童心,儿童美术的本质、发展特征、心理内容等不断被揭示。这些来自不同视域的"发现",丰富着成人的儿童美术观、儿童观,也成为教育反思的重要前提。  相似文献   

Disciplined freedom,branded authenticity,and dependable independence: how tensions enact flexibility in lifestyle blogging careers

Analyzing 219 blog posts from 52 self-employed women lifestyle bloggers in North America, this study shows how these digital professionals navigate tensions and communicatively constitute work flexibility. In their narratives, women bloggers employed tension management approaches such as reframing, continual connections, and reflective practice in response to tensions in enacting temporal–spatial, identity, and financial flexibility. Specifically, women followed oxymoronic constructions – disciplined freedom, branded authenticity, and dependable independence – to embrace and transform competing poles of fluidity?structure, authenticity?marketability, and independence?interconnection. Expanding work–life research to the self-employed digital labor context, this study responds to recent calls to uncover more-than tension management strategies in empirical settings and contributes to a tension-centered, contextual, and processual analysis of workplace flexibility construction.  相似文献
