| 摘 要： | 个人主义的观念是西方文化发展到近代的产物，有其特殊的历史背景。古代的自然环境、近代的文艺复兴和宗教改革都促进了西方个人主义价值观的形成。个人主义并不完全等同于“自我中心”或者“自私自利”。个人主义在美国得到了充分的实践；个人主义是美国文化的核心；个人主义本身所具有的多重性和复杂性。

| Abstract: | The concept of individualism is the result of development of modern western culture. The ancient natural environment, the modern Renaissance and the religion reform accelerate the western individualism to come into being. Individualism doesn't equal to egoism. The representation of individualism in US is sufficient. Individualism is the core of American culture and it possesses multiformity and complexity. |
