[目的/意义]在服务教学与科研的同时,美国高校图书馆还非常重视社会服务,并在"互联网+"时代对社会服务进行了拓展创新与变革。美国高校图书馆社会服务发展时间早、开放程度高、服务对象广、服务内容多元、服务方式多样,逐渐形成了成熟的特色服务模式,这些可为我国高校图书馆的社会服务拓展创新实践提供一定的借鉴。[方法/过程]笔者2016年实地考察美国多所高校图书馆社会服务创新实践活动,走访有关从事过社会服务的图书馆馆员,并在美方馆员的指导下设计基于美高校图书馆联盟的有关社会服务拓展创新实践现状的线上调研问卷。通过分析调查结果,对美国高校图书馆社会服务现状发展、实践创新及运营模式进行总结。[结果/结论]我国高校图书馆社会服务创新发展之路需要关注以下几个方面：注重对不同社会群体的开放;推动图书馆资源开放获取方式的创新;采取多种手段实现资源的共享;拓展图书馆资金的来源渠道;构建适合我国国情的社会服务新模式。 相似文献

[目的/意义]高校图书馆专利信息服务是深层次的学科服务,探索研究专利信息服务内容、模式与趋势有很强的现实意义。[方法/过程]通过对新时期高校图书馆专利信息服务工作的分析,构建四层内容体系:专利信息素养教育、专利信息检索分析服务、嵌入科研团队专利信息服务、决策支持专利信息服务;对各个层次的专利信息服务模式展开研究,重点探索嵌入科研过程的高端专利信息服务模式,并辅以实证研究。[结果/结论]高校图书馆专利信息服务的发展趋势是:构建符合创新人才培养的新型专利信息素养教育模式;延伸专利信息检索分析服务外延并挖掘服务深度;嵌入式专利信息服务是学科服务的创新内容;专利信息服务可为科研及管理提供高级决策支持。 相似文献

Abstract The purpose of this article is to outline the “best common practices” at Regent University Library, and share survey data illustrating their effectiveness. Also discussed is how transitioning from an entirely graduate university to a university serving both graduates and undergraduates has influenced library services. The new constituency will increase interlibrary loan transactions and test the library's practices. Providing quality interlibrary loan service to a growing academic population requires innovative ideas and practices while keeping the workflow streamlined. New programs implemented over the past several years include books on demand and providing more electronic books and journals. The focus of this study was to identify: 1) usage of library e-resources by faculty and staff affiliation and status to identify research and teaching needs; 2) usage of library e-resources by student major, status, gender, registered disability and registered veteran to establish best outreach practices and areas that need service improvement and collection development in support of student learning; and 3) the correlation between use of library e-resources and student attainment as defined by grade point average (GPA). Demographic data was collected for these users based on their university NetID logins. The findings in this study conclusively document that students and faculty use library e-resources to a statistically significant extent and that a statistical relationship exists between student GPA and their use of e-resources. This information confirms the value of library resources to institutional teaching and research needs and can be used to document library value to the institutional mission. 相似文献

Academic libraries are experiencing significant changes, and leadership plays an essential role in successfully implementing those changes. The study analyzed the leadership practices in academic libraries in Pakistan's twin cities (Islamabad and Rawalpindi). Another important purpose of the study was to shed light on the adopted practices in decision-making and motivating staff. The qualitative research approach was used to achieve the objectives. A structured interview method was employed to collect data from twenty chief librarians or directors of university libraries in Rawalpindi and Islamabad (twin cities). A purposive sampling technique was used. Open-ended questions were used to collect the data by considering the research objectives. The consent was taken from the selected LIS professionals as prior permission for the interview. NVivo was used to analyze the data, which was then presented using thematic content analysis. The findings revealed that most university library leaders were practising and following the participatory leadership style, also known as democratic leadership.The study will create awareness among academic professionals about the adopted leadership styles and practices and the benefits that can be obtained by implementing them. It will also attract the attention of associated bodies towards this dilemma and result in a positive initiative to build leadership skills in LIS professionals. To our knowledge, no prior study has been conducted to analyze the leadership practices in academic libraries in the Twin Cities, Pakistan. This study will fill that niche. 相似文献
