健康信息学是实践性很强的交叉学科。随着大数据技术及数字医疗产业的快速发展,加强健康信息学教育,培养具有大数据知识与技术应用能力的健康信息学队伍,是“健康中国”时代和国家战略发展的必然需求。文章通过网络调研和内容分析法,以7所经过美国图书馆协会(ALA)认证的美国图书情报学院(LIS学院)为研究样本,讨论大数据时代健康信息学(Health Informatics,HI)教育在大数据相关课程方面的开设特点;分析加入iSchools联盟的中国6所LIS学院健康信息学教育状况,并与美国7所LIS学院进行比较,对我国开展包含一定数量大数据相关课程的健康信息学教育提出建议。 相似文献

[目的/意义] 考察韩国图书情报学教育历史,有利于把握其发展特点和建设规律。[方法/过程] 通过阅读国内外与韩国图书情报教育相关的文献,凝练出韩国图书情报教育的发展规律,进而得出韩国图书情报教育的未来发展趋势。[结果/结论] 韩国早期的图书馆学教育主要由教育培训机构施行,基本延续了美国图书馆学教育的模式。20世纪80年代中期以后,图书情报教育进入高学历繁荣阶段,课程设置与研究领域向外扩展,社会需求量大于人才培养量,毕业生更愿意到图书馆就业,图书情报学教育走上繁荣与稳定发展之路。 相似文献

Given the explosive growth of digital collections and the digital transformation of services in libraries, the need for management education in library and information science programs has grown. However, I contend in this article that confusion abounds like the “Tower of Babel” for LIS programs to accomplish this goal. A one size fits all approach does not work. Instead, management theory and principles need to be LIS-centric in accord with present day needs and conceptions. Management education also needs to be linked with scientific rigor to practice to meet the needs and expectations of LIS students. Rather than delivering management education that speaks the language of business, the content needs to resonate with the conditions for managing in the LIS context and to be supportive of the values of the LIS field. The article provides examples from research on management and innovation in libraries and other information-rich contexts. It also illustrates the types of issues that management education in LIS programs should address to deepen our understanding of the essential principles needed to manage information and knowledge. 相似文献

A recent American Library Association (ALA) report has shown that less than 1% of credentialed librarians are African American males. This article discusses possible reasons for this dearth; and, in an effort to inform future LIS recruiting and marketing campaigns, the included study attempted to discover which factors lead African American males to choose to pursue a graduate degree in library and information science (LIS) and practice LIS as a career. The study also canvassed African American male librarians’ views on gender advantage in LIS, their career goals, perceived triumphs and challenges in LIS, and level of job satisfaction. 相似文献

Summary Graduate schools of library and information science (LIS) are rediscovering civic engagement. Examples illustrate how LIS students further diversity efforts through service-based learning experiences. LIS students involved in the American Library Association's Spectrum Initiative helped plan the leadership institute and the longitudinal study of scholars. Students prepared pathfinders for faculty at tribal community colleges and tribal schools. LIS students helped develop and operate “If I Can Read, I Can Do Anything,” a national reading program for schools serving Native children. This study investigated information technology (IT) courses offered in American Library Association–accredited library and information science (LIS) programs and the role of faculty with different professional ranks in teaching those courses. More than 20% of the courses offered in 42 programs in the academic year 2002 are IT-related, and 57% of the programs require one particular IT course as part of their core requirements for the master's degree. The contents of the IT courses range widely and go beyond traditional library settings. Faculty with different professional ranks teach significantly different subject areas of the IT courses. Almost half of the junior faculty and more than half of the senior faculty are from multidisciplinary fields; others have a traditional LIS background. Junior faculty's predominant research areas are as follows: information issues; information needs, information-seeking behavior, and information services; cognitive science; systems analysis and evaluation; and information organization. 相似文献

科研机构在科学研究和技术创新过程中发挥着重要作用,对不同国家科研机构的研究领域进行分析有助于促进相互学习并提高合作的可能性。本文利用自组织映射(SOM)人工神经网络方法对87所中美图书馆学情报学(LIS)科研机构在技术维度的图书情报学领域研究进行可视化比较分析。研究发现,中美图情科研机构都与本国同行具有更相似的研究领域。根据其研究领域的相似性,共识别出八组国际潜在合作机构和七组国内潜在合作机构,最后分析了中美图情机构的热点与特色研究领域。该研究发现有助于更好地了解中美图情机构在技术维度的图书情报学研究领域的相似性与差异,为相关科研机构寻找潜在的合作对象,跟踪国外热点研究领域,发现自身研究的不足提供决策支持。图1。表6。参考文献42。附录1。 相似文献

One goal of library and information science (LIS) education is for graduates to engage with the profession and interact with one another throughout their careers. The increase over the last decade in online distance learning options for LIS students presents a challenge to educators with respect to this goal: are students who earn the degree online sufficiently connected with one another to encourage the growth of lasting and productive professional networks? This article examines this question by looking at creation and loss of sociotechnical capital among LIS distance education graduates. The findings indicate that LIS educators should consider sociotechnical capital issues at the individual, interpersonal, and cohort level to support shared, lasting professional contributions. 相似文献

Nearly 25 years ago, Douglas Zweizig identified limitations in understanding the users of library services and called for improvements in research methodologies. To asses the impact of his critique, citation searches on Zweizig and keyword searches on “user-centered” identified a body of library and information science (LIS) literature that can be linked to the work of Zweizig and his colleague, Brenda Dervin. The characteristics of this literature are described and the philosophical origins of the user-centered approach is critiqued. Zweizig's initial call to incorporate social science methodologies into LIS research is evaluated. A discussion of LIS education in light of the recent Kellogg-ALISE Information Profession and Education Renewal Project study of LIS curricula is included. 相似文献
