In a scientific dispute over the effects of atrazine on amphibians, chemical industry–funded and publically funded scientists present stunningly contrasting constructions of atrazine's environmental concentrations, persistence, and potential to harm. Considerable scientific uncertainties and variable ranges allow authors to construct preferred versions of the story of atrazine. These incommensurate rhetorical constructions, more the result of competing economic and environmental interests than of any paradigmatic misalignments, have prolonged the dispute not only over atrazine's effects but also over whether its sales should be banned.  相似文献

我国体育用品制造业国际转移呈现出网络化、多元化、集群化、主动化的新趋势，其动力来源有三点，一是寻求我国体育用品制造业价值链的重构，二是试图跨越后发国家可能面临的价值链固化的"网络陷阱"，三是追逐包括竞争优势和网络权力等隐形收益在内的综合利益最大化。但是，这种自觉行动和主动作为可能受到价值链上端发达国家的阻击。因此，我国体育用品制造业要利用研发设计和品牌营销价值链的发育突破门限效应，积极开展跨境并购和逆向投资活动弥补比较劣势，并逐步回归到研发本土化，利用国内中小体育用品企业构建由自己主导的价值链，以全球布局应对潜在的贸易风险。  相似文献

为给跨境电商管理者提供适宜的物流模式及具体的物流方案，促进跨境电商长远发展，整合自贸区仓储中心、国际班轮运输和海外仓，建立基于自贸区的出口跨境电商物流网络模型和灰色跨境电商物流模型.通过数据分析得出两模型总成本随商品质量、价格变化而变化的趋势及两模型之间的象限图，求出象限图中第一模型对应区域内自贸区仓储中心和海外仓储中心的最佳选址地点及路径分配策略.  相似文献

对民族传统体育文化的认同意识是中华民族文明得以传承和发展的重要内容之一.运用文献资料法、逻辑分析法对民族传统体育文化的认同问题进行研究,指出传承环境和文化价值观念的改变、相关法律政策与广大民众的疏离,传播的局限性和封闭性是民族传统体育文化认同意识淡化的原因.在此基础上提出,保护和改善民族地区自然和人文环境,唤醒民众的文化自觉意识,重铸民众的主体认同意识,探索多元化的宣传传播途径,旨在提高民众的文化认同意识,促进民族传统体育文化的传承发展与中华文化的复兴.  相似文献

为实现VTS值班人员适任能力培训和评估的自动化、智能化,确保评估结果客观、公正和合理,构建VTS模拟器情景对话的智能评估系统。该系统通过建立标准航海通信用语语料库提高在线语音识别系统的精确性。引入基于语法规则的匹配分析模型对由语音识别系统得到的文本字符串进行匹配分析。详细介绍基于加权的实操评估准则制定方法。该系统利用智能技术能实现部分VTS情景对话的自动化评估,减轻评估人员的负担,且能避免人工评估的主观性和不公平性。  相似文献   

Learning the American Way: Sports International and American Soft Power

Abstract

From 1962 to 1968, the United States Government along with private entities funded the training of athletes from developing nations through a non-profit organization named Sports International. Led by former Peace Corps member David Dichter, Sports International sought to enhance America’s image in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. The initial aim of the programme was to train athletes to compete at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The theory behind Sports International centred on the notion that helping developing nations achieves athletic success would influence them to view the United States more favourably. The idea to form Sports International came in the midst of the Cold War as the United States and the Soviet Union battled on a multitude of fronts. This article argues that American leaders worried about the presence of the Soviet Union in developing countries and sought ways to maximize American influence in those areas. The theory of soft power, a concept most prominently explicated by American international relations theorist Joseph Nye, forms the framework for this study. By analysing Sports International through this lens, this article demonstrates several problems which might ensure should one overemphasize the effect of sport on a nation’s soft power.  相似文献   

Relationship Understanding Between Emotional Stability,Self-Disclosure and Social Adjustment

This paper discusses a survey, carried out by the authors, of 211 employees’ employed in public and private manufacturing organizations in North India to determine if emotional stability acts as a mediator between self-disclosure and social adjustment. Capitalization theory has been used as theoretical framework to examine the proposed relationships. Results indicate that high self-disclosure has positive association with social adjustment. Results also suggest that emotional stability partially mediates self-disclosure and social adjustment relationship. Implications for future research include further examination through additional mediators and other dimensions of self-disclosure from capitalization theory in understudied non-U.S. cultures like India.  相似文献   

The international telecommunication regime in the information age

This paper examines recent changes in the international telecommunication regime. The concept of an international regime comes from the field of international relations. Although it is not universally accepted, one of the most widely supported definitions describes an international regime as, ‘implicit or explicit principles, norms, rules, and decision‐making procedures around which actors’ expectations converge in a given area of international relations'.¹ The ‘given area’ of concern here is telecommunication. Telecommunication and the principles, norms, rules and decision‐making procedures which are relevant to it at the international level—which have been studied extensively by communications and development economics scholars²—have only rarely been the focus of international relations scholars.³ The objective of this paper is to use tools from the study of international relations to explore subject matter that has more frequently been the focus of scholars in communications, development economics, and information economics.  相似文献
