In this paper, the distributed optimization problem over multi-cluster networks is considered. Different from the existing works, this paper studies the optimization algorithm under uncoordinated step sizes. More specifically, by combining a random sleep strategy and the round-robin communication among clusters, a new hierarchical algorithm is developed to solve the considered problem. In the proposed algorithm, the random sleep strategy enables each agent to independently choose either performing the projected subgradient descent, or keeping the previous estimate by a Bernoulli decision, based on which the step size of each agent is selected as an uncoordinated form that only relates to the independent Bernoulli decision variable. Technically, by introducing a key definition on the algorithm history, it is proven that the estimates of the proposed algorithm can converge to the optimal solution even with the uncoordinated step sizes. In addition, we also study the convergence performance of the proposed algorithm with simpler constant step sizes. In this case, it is proven that the random sleep strategy can efficiently improve the convergence accuracy of the algorithm. In this paper, we present the dimensionless form of a chaotic permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Its Kolmogorov formalism, which can be used to describe dissipative-forced dynamical systems, shows that there exist four types of torques, i.e., inertial torque, internal torque, dissipative torque and external torque. The mechanical analysis of the dimensionless PMSM is given for five different combinations of these torques. Numerical simulations show that the occurrence of chaos depends on these four types of torques. Moreover, the ultimate boundary estimation of the dimensionless chaotic PMSM is also investigated theoretically and numerically. 相似文献

In this paper, the approximation problem of T–S fuzzy linear singular system for a class of nonlinear singular system with derivative of input is considered and the nonlinear singular system has impulses. Consider a numerical example and a two-wheel drive robot, the T–S fuzzy singular systems are calculated for original system with derivative of input. According to solvability and steps of solving of the two examples, the results are extended to more generally nonlinear singular system with derivative of input. The theorem and algorithm that are given if input-state system is bounded impulse-free item and separable impulse item, it can be approximated by T–S fuzzy singular system with arbitrary accuracy. Although science parks are established globally for decades as an innovation policy instrument to foster growth and networking, there is limited attention given towards research into possible types within these real estate objects. Prior attempts in categorising science parks are characterised by the limited number of cases and/or variables. Science parks are believed to enhance innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic value for firms and regions. Past academic research showed mixed results on these performances and it is reasoned that distinct types within science parks exist that might explain these unclear results. We argue that before we can grasp what science parks can do, we should know what they are. Therefore, a survey on science park characteristics was completed by 82 science park managers in Europe. A cluster analysis was conducted which grouped the 82 participating science parks in three types; ‘research’, ‘cooperative’, and ‘incubator’ locations. Next, differences and similarities of these three types within science parks in Europe were analysed as a basis for advancing the academic debate. The types provide further understanding of science parks and offer researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers a means to compare, market, and benchmark science parks more adequately. 相似文献

The setting up of the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at Sussex University 50 years ago represented a “transformative change” in the research on science policy and the understanding of the nature and origin of technological change and innovation studies. It influenced policymakers across the world in both the mature Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries and the developing world. It made the topic of science, technology and innovation (STI) familiar to business studies scholars. Today though, the analysis of STI appears to be somewhat in crisis. On the one hand, there is growing evidence that the growth and welfare gains of new technologies and innovation are no longer forthcoming in an automatic “trickle-down” fashion. The knowledge and technology diffusion “machine” appears broken. On the other hand, there are growing environmental concerns about the negative externalities of unsustainable fossil-fuel-based growth as industrialization spreads across the globe. STI policy appears somehow stuck in an industrial efficiency and consumerism mode that is unable to address in a satisfactory way the impact of such negative externalities. Can the broader historical approach as popularized within the so-called Science and Technology Studies (STS) tradition provide additional, complementary insights? Yes, if STI and STS scholars are prepared to leave their respective conceptual comfort zones and address in complementary fashion some of the major societal policy challenges confronting science, technology and innovation policy today. 相似文献
