图书馆OPAC系统可实施改善的服务功能包括:嵌入著名搜索引擎的特色服务功能模块,引导读者多途径检索馆藏信息;研究用户搜索行为,提供"搜索建议(搜索帮助)";增加检索关键词的高亮显示功能,帮助读者鉴别结果;深度揭示馆藏地,便于读者快速确定文献的物理位置;整合纸质文献和电子资源,基于OPAC提供一站式资源检索服务.从这5个方面对OPAC系统的改进,能够体现出其以人为本的功能,使读者更为便捷地利用图书馆资源、享受图书馆服务.  相似文献

中国科技项目创新成果鉴定意见数据库(知网版)收录了1978 年以来所有正式登记的中国科技成果数据, 共计56 万余项,集成了科技成果著述信息、知网学术文献总库中的期刊文章、硕博论文、会议论文、标准规范和专利 文献等在内的各类资源,最终形成科技成果知识网络,并提供了导航功能、检索功能、知网节功能、评价功能和用户 管理等各项服务。其中,知网节功能是对检索结果进行挖掘分析的资源整合模式,将所有具有密切联系的知识集成在 一个汇编页面上。此外,文章基于语义分类导航理念,探索了数据库增值服务的新模式。  相似文献

The National Library of Medicine Extramural Program in administering the Medical Library Assistance Act of 1965 has developed the following specific program objectives: provide financial assistance for improving biomedical libraries; encourage and assist the establishment and functioning of a responsive national biomedical information network by strengthening present biomedical libraries and their interlibrary relationships; and assure that the biomedical library network is linked to related science information systems. The ultimate goal is to develop the role of the library as a full learning resource center for education, research, and service. The regional library program aims to augment present capability of existing medical libraries so that information can be made available more extensively and more rapidly. 如何有效的进行生物医学文献检索和信息挖掘,是计算机技术和生物信息技术研究领域中的一个经典课题。本文对生物医学文献中自然语言问题文档,片段,概念和RDF三元组,构建了高效的检索和问答系统。特别的,在文档检索中,我们搭建了基于顺序依赖模型,词向量,和伪相关反馈相结合的通用检索模型;同时,前k个文档被分离为句子和片段,并以此建立检索索引,并基于文档检索模型,完成片段检索;在概念挖掘中,提取生物医学的概念,列出相关的概念属于网络服务的五个数据库链接,通过得分排名得到最终的概念。在CLEF BioASQ几年的评测数据上,我们构造的检索系统都取得了不错的性能。  相似文献

Annotation of the functions of genes and proteins is an essential step in genome analysis. Information extraction techniques have been proposed to obtain the function information of genes and proteins in the biomedical literature. However, the performance of most information extraction techniques of function annotation in the biomedical literature is not satisfactory due to the large variability in the expression of concepts in the biomedical literature. This paper proposes a framework to improve the gene function annotation in the literature by considering both the textual information in the literature and the functions of genes with sequences similar to a target gene. The new framework collects multiple types of evidence as: (i) textual information about gene functions by matching keywords of the gene functions; (ii) gene function information from the known functions of genes with sequences similar to a target gene; and (iii) the prior probabilities of gene functions to be associated with an arbitrary gene by mining the known gene functions from curated databases. A supervised learning method is utilized to obtain the weights for combining the three types of evidence to assign appropriate Gene Ontology terms for target genes. Empirical studies on two testbeds demonstrate that the combination of sequence similarity scores, function prior probabilities and textual information improves the accuracy of gene function annotation in the literature. The F-measure scores obtained with the proposed framework are substantially higher than the scores of the solutions in prior research.

Expert-mediated literature searching, a keystone service in biomedical librarianship, would benefit significantly from regular methodical review. This article describes the novel use of Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) software to create a database of literature searches conducted at a large academic health sciences library. An archive of paper search requests was entered into REDCap, and librarians now prospectively enter records for current searches. Having search data readily available allows librarians to reuse search strategies and track their workload. In aggregate, this data can help guide practice and determine priorities by identifying users’ needs, tracking librarian effort, and focusing librarians’ continuing education.  相似文献

The SUNY Biomedical Communication Network became operational in 1968 as the first on-line bibliograhpic retrieval service for biomedical literature. Since 1968, the SUNY/BCN has grown in size from nine to thirty-two medical and university libraries and has expanded its data base coverage to include the ERIC and Psychological Abstracts data bases in addition to the full ten-year retrospective MEDLARS data base. Aside from the continuous provision of an on-line searching system, the SUNY experience over the last six years has yielded valuable information in the following areas of: (1) monograph indexing and retrieval, (2) shared cataloging, (3) user interaction and education in on-line systems, and (4) member participation in Network policy-making processes. The continued success of the SUNY/BCN is evidence that it is possible to provide a high quality on-line bibliographic retrieval system at cost to academic institutions. SUNY's success in this effort is the result of centralized resource sharing and effective regional networking, combined with thoughtful planning by user advisory committees.  相似文献

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has a broad mission in biomedical information service. There are three major reasons for NLM, as a national institution, having an international program: first, the global nature of disease; second, the international scope of medical literature; and third, the universal goal of better communication. This paper reviews NLM's programs in relation to international medical information exchange: International MEDLARS Centers, collaboration with WHO and PAHO, NLM Special Foreign Currency Program, and development of the NLM collection.  相似文献

The images found within biomedical articles are sources of essential information useful for a variety of tasks. Due to the rapid growth of biomedical knowledge, image retrieval systems are increasingly becoming necessary tools for quickly accessing the most relevant images from the literature for a given information need. Unfortunately, article text can be a poor substitute for image content, limiting the effectiveness of existing text-based retrieval methods. Additionally, the use of visual similarity by content-based retrieval methods as the sole indicator of image relevance is problematic since the importance of an image can depend on its context rather than its appearance. For biomedical image retrieval, multimodal approaches are often desirable. We describe in this work a practical multimodal solution for indexing and retrieving the images contained in biomedical articles. Recognizing the importance of text in determining image relevance, our method combines a predominately text-based image representation with a limited amount of visual information, in the form of quantized content-based visual features, through a process called global feature mapping. The resulting multimodal image surrogates are easily indexed and searched using existing text-based retrieval systems. Our experimental results demonstrate that our multimodal strategy significantly improves upon the retrieval accuracy of existing approaches. In addition, unlike many retrieval methods that utilize content-based visual features, the response time of our approach is negligible, making it suitable for use with large collections.  相似文献

The Selective Medical Library on Microfiche (SMLM) project is designed to improve access to the world's significant biomedical literature in developing countries' medical school libraries through the provision of a first-rate, low-cost core collection of journals. One hundred and five journals representing thirty-six biomedical specialties were selected using a method designed specifically for SMLM. The journals are provided on microfiche because of its relative low cost, durability, easy reproduction, and rapid delivery by air mail. SMLMs have been established at test and demonstration sites in four medical schools in Egypt, Indonesia, Mexico, and Colombia. SMLMs are delivered as turnkey systems consisting of the microfiche collection, a reader-printer, four fiche readers, necessary furniture, and promotional and training materials.
