[目的/意义] 为了给读者提供多种移动服务,方便读者使用图书馆,探讨用微信公众平台构建图书馆APP的技术实现方法。[方法/过程] 采用OneThink内容管理框架开发微信服务程序,整合图书馆的业务系统和各种资源后,通过微信服务程序和自动发送信息程序呈现给用户四大功能模块:资源检索、服务、个人图书馆、用户与图书馆馆员的实时交流。系统后台模块则主要实现系统配置、用户管理及插件的管理配置等功能。[结果/结论] 以微信公众平台构建的图书馆APP提高了图书馆的服务质量。  相似文献

数项新近的研究显示:全球学术图书馆的使用量出现骤降,本科生对图书馆的使用情况尤其如是,借阅量呈递减趋势;杂志与书籍(纸本和电子本)的使用率偏低;以学习、完成作业或休闲阅读为目的的使用率也出现下降。或许跌幅最大、最显著的版块在于向馆员提交查询请求方面,即一般统称的参考咨询服务。这种跌幅背后,隐藏着若干因素,层出不穷的信息查阅模式为其中之一种,而读者对馆员工作范畴与能力的了(误)解程度亦为其原因之一。这种趋势在亚洲,特别是在文化语言多元化的香港,究竟有多明显?在数字时代,要提供切合学术图书馆读者需求的咨询服务,实有必要进行更详细的地区性调查研究,以探讨学术图书馆读者现有的态度和行为。  相似文献

泛在图书馆意为无所不在的图书馆,是图书馆服务的泛在化,被认为是未来图书馆的重要型态和发展模式。从泛在图书馆的角度认识今天的图书馆服务,本文提出,必须从基于物理图书馆的传统服务,转变为基于用户的学科化服务。为此,学科化服务需要确立如下工作目标和工作重点:从图书馆的学科馆员到用户的学科馆员;从以利用图书馆为目标到以利用信息和知识为目标;从各自为战到协同工作;从信息中介到科研合作伙伴;从提供资源利用的指导到充当用户的信息环境顾问。  相似文献

The North Carolina Foreign Language Center is a centralized multilingual public library which serves all residents of North Carolina. Local library patrons have direct access to its materials and services. Residents elsewhere can borrow materials and use its reference capabilities via InterLibrary Loan. The NCFLC is funded by the North Carolina State Library using L.S.C.A. funds. The NCFLC can serve as a model for other states with a low population density of non‐English or limited‐English speaking people. By making foreign language resources available through one library, North Carolina provides a wide selection of such materials and can afford the services of a full‐time librarian to manage the collection.  相似文献

Abstract

Administering special collections within an academic branch library presents challenges in the areas of public services, collection management, facilities planning, and staffing. In art and architecture libraries, special collections can include a variety of materials such as rare books, trade catalogs, builder's guides, graphic and visual materials, artists' books, archival records in many formats, and files of ephemera. Public service issues relating to the administration of special collections housed in an architecture branch library (and its off-site repositories) will be addressed. The circuit rider librarian concept is discussed. The implementation and growth of the circuit librarian programs serving mral hospitals in New York and Pennsylvania are reported. The circuit rider librarian's schedule and functions are discussed, including time spent on the road and at Ihe resource library, reference services and other library services. Financing, budgeting, and personal contact are stressed. Detailed reference statistics are provided to illustrate the growth of library services; statistics are also analyzed by requester category. ABSTRACT

New York University Abu Dhabi Library has developed new strategies to increase efficiency in technical services processing between units based in New York and Abu Dhabi. This case study discusses the challenges specific to the international context and the methods used to overcome them, increase speed processing, and ultimately improve patron access to materials. A key factor in successful implementation was the strategic decision made by library administration to provide the newly-hired technical services librarian with three months of cross-training in New York before permanently moving to Abu Dhabi. A specific model of communication was put into action leading to the resolution of many problems and inefficiencies. In addition, a broader study of global communication tools was conducted and resulted in best practices for other library units within the university network. This paper explores the trend toward centralization of library services resulting from the impact of technology and economic conditions on today's research institutions. It contends that earlier predictions indicating library services would became more decentralized due to automation have not held true. Instead, as remote access to libraries and electronic databases becomes more popular, it appears to be the users who are increasingly decentralized rather than the collections and services. The growing trend toward centralization is reflected in the growing consolidation of science and technology departmental libraries into either one central sci/tech library or the integration of departmental collections into the main library collection. Economic factors, organizational patterns, and library users have also contributed to the increased use of the centralization model. The merging of services and library functions are also discussed. A possible scenario for future library organization is provided.  相似文献

The Hospital Library Services Program (HLSP) in western New York, during the period covered by its first five-year plan, 1984-1989, is recounted and described. This ongoing program is funded annually by a New York State grant and hospital participation fees. It is designed to support access to biomedical information for health care professionals through a grant program for hospitals with staffed libraries and a circuit program for hospitals without library staffing or without libraries. Hospitals participating in the grant program contribute funds and receive grants for collection development. Hospitals participating in the circuit program pay a participation fee and receive regularly scheduled, documented, circuit librarian visits; a collection development grant; and a grant for contract library services. The program contracts with the State University of New York at Buffalo's (UB) Health Sciences Library to provide computerized literature searches; interlibrary loan (ILL) of journal articles, books, and audiovisuals; and ILL referrals.  相似文献

[目的/意义] 通过探讨突发公共卫生事件下图书馆应急服务的实践方案,为图书馆在处理应急事件时提供一个切实可行的参考方案,可提高图书馆馆员信息素养与应急处理能力,并进一步完善馆藏资源建设策略。[方法/过程] 以北京市委党校图书馆在突发公共卫生事件下资源服务实践为例,从现有图书馆应急服务的现状与不足,馆员团队远程协同合作模式,应急服务实践的策略制定、设计与实现等角度出发,全面分析突发公共卫生事件下图书馆应急服务的探索与实践过程,并提出若干问题与建议。[结果/结论] 北京市委党校图书馆从突发公共卫生事件下的用户需求出发,构建了多个基于当前地域下的多方位应急服务案例,有效地提高了图书馆面向社会提供更好服务的能力以及图书馆用户的信息素养,驱动图书馆资源建设的进一步发展。  相似文献
