Sports Analytics     
This paper introduces the field of Sport Analytics and discusses its relevance for sports sciences. The term originates from the US and has become a synonym for the collection, analysis and application of sports data in many countries. There are different goals and interests, which vary according to the different stakeholders. Professional sport clubs use the data for match analysis, regulation of training load, prevention of injuries and supporting transfer decisions. Media companies differentiate themselves from other market players by enhancing their sports program using innovative statistics. The world’s largest information technology (IT) companies use sports data as a showcase for their data analytics products. In addition, the academic world can benefit from the huge volumes of information. The data enable sport science to analyse the structure of sports performance, test the effectiveness of interventions and find new paradigms for modelling. Computer science can use the data to improve their algorithms for big data analytics, data mining and machine learning. Many scientific conferences, textbooks, special issues in scientific journals and a subject-specific journal are indicators of the ongoing academic institutionalization of Sports Analytics. In order to establish compatibility to international structures and to improve job prospects for its graduates, sport science should adapt to this international evolution of the field.  相似文献

The University of Tübingen in the southwest of Germany claims to have the oldest tradition for gymnastics and sports of any German University. In 1839, the Ministry for Education of the Kingdom of Wuerttemberg officially decreed that there would be a Gymnastische Anstalt, which was to be a department of the university giving students the opportunity to do gymnastics and exercises. The new institute for gymnastics (in German turnen) was controlled by the academic authorities of the university, chaired by the president and the disciplinary commission. The paper implies both a consideration of the chronological history of physical education, games, and sports at a university, which advanced to become one of the leading contemporary physical education colleges in Germany, and to elaborate the distinctive qualities of modern developments with respect to the institutionalization of sport science(s) at universities. 采用文献资料调研和调查访问等方法 ,对中国体育科学研究的特点与存在的问题进行了探讨 ,并对中国体育科学发展进行了展望。研究表明 :中国体育科学表现出科学研究取得高水平成果、研究手段多样化、初步形成了中国特色的体育科学研究体系、开始步入国际体育科学舞台等 4个方面的特点。但是 ,中国体育科学研究存在着创新性研究成果 (假说 )不多、研究方法中存在的缺陷、体育科学研究发展不平衡、在国际体育科学研究领域地位不高等问题。另外 ,中国体育科学应当在理论研究突出重点 ;应用研究突出实用特征、新技术与新方法的应用 ;加强中国特色的体育科学研究 ;建立中国体育科学数据平台 ;不断提高在国际体育科学研究中地位等方面进行加强。  相似文献

In the fields of both education and sport, the possession of capital and habitus influences an individual’s lifestyles and choices, which in turn affects the social selection within these fields. In this article, we will study the Swedish system of school sports as an overlap between the fields of education and sport, and thus viewed as a double dominated field. From a cultural sociological perspective, the purpose of this article is to analyse and explain how the organisational conditions and pupils’ social characteristics interact with upper secondary pupils’ choices of different school sports programmes in Sweden. Based on registry data on secondary school sports pupils, the results show that the supply of school sports requires specific forms of social dispositions that have an impact on which categories of pupils choose to participate. According to the cultural sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, gaining access to a social space or a position within a social space requires a specific capital. For teachers, this is normally indicated by a valid teaching certificate with relevant subject knowledge. However, when no qualified teachers are available, which is the case for the subject of school sports in Sweden, other assets gain recognition. Drawing on Bourdieu's conceptual framework, this paper examined the conditions for school sports in Sweden, and based on questionnaires answered by 109 teachers, explored the competencies, education and backgrounds teachers in upper secondary school sports possess. The paper address the question: what valuable resources are required to become a teacher of school sports and gain recognition as symbolic capital? The results show that while school sports in Sweden are carried out through a school subject and thus regulated by the government, it is influenced by both the fields of education and sport. Furthermore, the questionnaire results show that a majority of the teachers are employed as coaches instead of teachers and that less than half of them (45%) have a teacher education background, while 95% have a coaching education background. However, the results also show that teachers assessed their competencies for teaching school sports as high, especially with regard to competencies in specific sport skills. In conclusion, this paper shows how coaching education and experience in competitive sports are an important resource required to become a teacher in school sports and is thus recognized as symbolic capital. Therefore, school sports cannot be viewed as a legitimate part of the field of education but can be viewed as a part of the field of sport.  相似文献

学术论著的被引用情况,可以反映学科的研究热点,但还不够全面。利用CSSCI(中国社会科学引文索引)研究论文标引关键词来分析学科的研究热点和研究趋势,可以佐证其相关研究结果,不失为这一方面研究的有力补充,但目前尚未见到有类似成果发表。2000-2004年CSSCI数据库收集了各类体育学研究论文所标引的关键词11487个.对这些关键词被标引最多的前100个进行归类分析研究,从而使体育学术研究热点和趋势的关联信息浮出水面,在体育教学方面,多集中于课程建设、教学方法;在竞技运动方面,研究项目多集中田径、篮球、排球、乒乓球及竞技体操;在社会体育方面,多集中体育体制的改革、社会体育的政策及法制建设。  相似文献

体育社会科学的原始创新能力是一种综合能力,其主旨是通过体育促进人及社会的和谐发展,主体是体育社会科学人才,内核是体育创新主体的自我超越,外壳是全新的体育知识产品,标志是对体育发展的主导作用。相对保守的传统文化、整体较弱的国民素质、急功近利的科研体制、急待优化的学术队伍、粗放的研究模式、极端的科学主义、强烈的泛意识形态思维和淡漠的学术批评氛围等,束缚了我国体育社会科学原始创新能力的发展。建议:应增强批判意识,完善人才政策,优化学术队伍,改进科研模式,提高国民体育科学文化素质,构建高等体育院校创新体系,提供更丰富的信息资源支持,提高体育社会科学工作者的学术修养。  相似文献

采用问卷调查法和访谈法,对体育教育专业课程设置情况进行研究。通过对术科与学科的比重、专修与普修的关系、必修与选修、最适运动项目、最适理论课程等进行调查与分析,结果表明,在专业课程设置中,术科与学科的比重应各占一半,专修与普修的比重也应大体对等,应增设选修课,适当减少必修课。本专业最适运动项目分别为篮球、网球、足球、乒乓球等,学校体育学、运动心理学、教育学等为最适理论课程。  相似文献

Abstract

This article concerns the use of sport as an asset of knowledge in academia. The background to this is sport’s neglected role and isolation in academia, save for in sundry sports sciences. By mapping the academic use of philosopher Michel Serres’ sport metaphors, a new perspective of the relationship between sport and science is explored. A mixed-methods approach was chosen to review the literature using Serres’ concept of the ‘quasi-object’. The findings show that the concept appeals to a wide array of disciplines within the social sciences and the humanities. The article suggests that there exists a parallel sport science in academia that flies under the radar of regular sport disciplines, a sort of ‘sport AS humanities’. This proposed ‘sportive science’ focuses on other aspects of sport than its already existing sport study counterparts. Thus, sport qua science acknowledges its topic as an asset of knowledge, not as a mirror of society.  相似文献

The literature concerning links between sport knowledge, sport performance and academic ability is reviewed and related to empirical evidence obtained from a GCSE examination in Physical Education, together with GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English grades. For most sports examined, there was a small but significant positive correlation between sport performance and GCSE Mathematics and English grades, confirming the findings of most previous research. Using a multilevel multivariate model, average sport performance, academic ability and sex were important explanatory variables for sport knowledge, yet only academic ability was an important explanatory variable for the concept of physical education knowledge. Ability in game sports, rather than athletics, were related to sport knowledge. Males scored higher for sport knowledge than females, after taking into account sport performance and academic ability. The effects of sport performance and academic ability on sport knowledge were stable across schools, but there was some evidence that the effect of sex varied across schools. These findings support theories of a role for sport knowledge in sport performance; that such a role should be greater in game sports; that academic ability is important for gaining such knowledge; and they highlight differences in sport knowledge between the sexes.  相似文献

There is currently a distinct dearth of research into how sports students' career aspirations are formed during their post-compulsory education. This article, based on an ethnographic study of sport students in tertiary education, draws on data collected from two first-year cohorts (n = 34) on two different courses at a further education college in England. The study draws on ethnographic observations, and semi-structured group interviews, to examine in-depth the contrasting occupational perspectives emergent within these two groups of mainly working-class students, and how specific cultural practices affect students' career aspirations. Utilising a Bourdieusian framework, the paper analyses the internalised, often latent cultural practices that impact upon these students' diverse career aspirations. The hitherto under-researched dimension of inter-habitus interaction and also the application of doxa are outlined. The article reveals how the two student cohorts are situated within a complex field of relations, where struggles for legitimisation, academic accomplishment and numerous forms of lucrative capital become habituated. The study offers salient Bourdieusian-inspired insights into the career aspirations of these predominantly working-class students and the ways in which certain educational practices contribute to the production and reproduction of class inequalities.  相似文献

Erinnerungskultur (culture of remembrance) is a widely discussed notion in German historiography. First, the meaning of Erinnerungskultur, including the specific role of academic historiography of sport, is described and explained with respect to sport and sport historiography. One main objective is to reveal the diversity of cultures of sport history and the specific obligations of academic historiography. Second, the actors of sport memories and/or Traditionspflege (heritage) are characterised, and, third, some controversial and perennial debates that permeate German sports history are explained and interpreted, especially that of Carl Diem, internationally known as ‘Mister Olympics’ of 1936. All in all, the paper provides an overview of the mainstreams, cultures and politics of history in Germany with respect to sport.  相似文献

通过应用文献资料法和专家访谈法探讨体育统计方法在体育领域应用的拓展历程,通过探讨其拓展历程能够从一个侧面反映体育统计学的发展历程,为了解体育统计方法在体育领域的应用现状提高依据和参考,为促进体育统计方法在体育领域更广泛更正确更深入地应用提高借鉴。从查阅到的文献及史料记载,体育统计方法真正称之为在体育领域的应用始于上世纪70年代,因此文章以体育统计学发展历史阶段为坐标研究体育统计方法在体育领域的应用历程,从体育统计学发展过程中的两个阶段即学科的恢复、快速发展阶段(1978年-1991年)和学科平稳、调整阶段(1992年—今)中探讨体育统计方法的应用历程。研究结果表明,体育统计方法的应用拓展历程贯穿于以下两条主线。从学科范围上:从体质研究——体育基础理论学科的应用——体育人文学科的应用——体育软科学研究中的应用;从在竞技体育的运动训练中的应用——在研究体育教学即学校体育中的应用——在研究大众体育、群众体育的应用。  相似文献

运用调查法、文献资料法、访谈法、逻辑分析法等方法,对三峡大学2007-2009届245名社会体育专业毕业生的就业状况进行了研究。结果表明:毕业生的整体就业率、专业对口率与全国水平相似,加快社会体育专业建设,加强就业引导和指导是当前解决和改善社会体育专业毕业生就业困境的有效对策。  相似文献
